Raleigh's Race for the Cure
I just wanted to post a little note tonight to tell everyone about our Race for the Cure experience this past weekend. Ann Marie, Savannah and I walked the 5K course in honor of Ann's mother who was diagnosed with cancer about 2 years ago and has successfully beaten back this all too common disease. The cause hits close to home you see so we feel a duty to Ann Marie's mom as well as the millions of others in the world who are this day raging a battle with breast cancer. God Bless them all!
Our day stated with a good breakfast, then a bus ride to the event site around 8:30 am. The race started at 9:30 am and it took us about an hour and a half to walk the course stroller and all! We had a blast walking with the thousands of other participants and seeing the support from the local community. Final tally on the monies raised has not been posted yet, but I am sure it was a total success!
Next year we hope you can all participate in an event in your area to honor someone you may know. Remember, GO PINK!
Michael "I would run if I could", Ann Marie "Can we just walk to Cameron Village and no Meredith?" and Savannah "Who has the Goldfish" Kennedy
Rolling On!
It was a warm day and the water hoses were a welcome sight!
