Well Savannah and I have been keeping busy in the last week! It started with a beautiful gift basket from my friend in Spain. Along with some beautiful items for me (like a beautiful fan and shawl with embroidery), Savannah got present too! Amoung a variety of stuff (bangles, hair peices, etc), her favorite by far was a beautiful fan from Granada and red dancing shoes. She danced the weekend away in them until I finally pryed them off her feet!

Then, it was off to see our friend Pam and Dean and their two beautiful girls Molly and Emma. Pam made her famous Mac -n- cheese (thank you Pam) and a good time was had by all. For some reason, the "clean up" song was a favorite for all the girls - I only wish Savannah would apply the song sometimes around the house...

Finally, it is time to get ready for the all important Halloween festivities by picking out the perfect pumpkin. Unfortunately, the ongoing drought in NC has not been kind to the Pumpkin crop this year the the pickings were rather slim. Still, we managed to find three perfect specimans. One large one for carving (by Dad), one medium one for Mom and one small one for Savannah. Only a few short weeks until the candy distribution starts!

Anyhow, not much else to report so I'll just post the pictures!

So, what have we been up to??

I know, it has been over a month since our last update - far too long! But, the month of September has been a busy one! We started off with a Labor Day cookout with some old and new friends coming over to play in the kiddie pool and partake of food and frosty beverages. A grand time was had by all - despite the extreme heat. We have been having on of the hottest Septembers in history! It was just this week that we seem to finally break Summer's hold and we are dropping into the 80's and 50's at night (and yes, for me and my thin blood - that's cold).

The next big adventure was Family Day at Dad's work. Needless to say, our little Savannah was the star of the show. There was all kinds of jumpy rides and toys to be won. She actually won so many toys that she was giving them away on her way out of the event! But, nothing could match the all time excitement of Savannah's first pony ride! She was one very tired little girl at the end of the day!

Then, it was off to the annual pool closing party at Nana and Pop-pop's house. Savannah got to play with her friend Sky, dance to bluegrass, swim in the pool, watch fireworks and of course, experience her first real pig pickin'.

Then, another big event was the start of the Carolina Hurricane's Hockey season! And for Savannah (ok, and me too) - that's all we have been waiting for since June! So, the first day was the Caniac Carnival with more jumpy rides, music and finally - the dropping of the puck! Play on boys!!!

Finally, my brother, sister-in-law and most importantly, little Dylan came by for a visit! Savannah was so amazed by Dylan (who is 10 months) so mobile and interactive. She could not get enough of him! Hugging him, kissing him, crawling on the floor with him, showing him how to talk and chasing his toys down for him. She was a very good big Cousin! It was so cute to watch them together. And Dylan was just as smitten with Savannah. His face would light up when she was in the room!

Well, I thnk that just about caps it off. Savannah is loving her school and has another little boyfriend (her first one relocated)!!! She continues to amaze us with her rapidly increasing verbal skills. Unfortunately for me - that means I have to contain my road-rage on the morning ride to school as she already repeated an unsavory word. But, she said it so cutely that I had a hard time not laughing!
